Baby Owls

Recently my cousin invited me to go see a nest of baby owls. She's been a bird nerd far longer than me, and was sharing some interesting facts along the way. I learned how the sparrows will bounce around in the brush, and pop up to the top sometimes in response to pishing. We heard a unique bird sound I didn't recognize and she told me it was a White-eyed Vireo, but I didn't get a chance to see it. We made our way across an open field, and she described how Northern Harriers can be seen in the area flying low over the tall grass, heads down searching for prey. We crossed a gravel road where sparrows hopped about, searching for bugs among the gravel. Finally we approached a huge oak tree, and nestled at the junction between it's trunk and first four limbs, were these baby owls. Later we spotted their parent, keeping a watchful eye on us. They flew off before I could get a picture.
